Multiphase with 1 output to 4 output
In April 2018, Renesas Electronics announced high power efficiency programmable power management IC (PMIC) "ISL 91302B" "ISL 91301 A" "ISL 91301 B" that provides a maximum output current of 20 A and a peak efficiency of 94% while being small and 70 mm 2 in packaging area did. It can be used as a power source for industrial MPU, FPGA, AI (artificial intelligence) processor and the like. It also supports products that require multiple power inputs, such as consumer devices and network devices.

The ISL 91302B is a one-output or two-output multi-phase PMIC. Three configurations of dual phase, triple phase, and quad phase can be selected at the time of shipment as a method of distributing the maximum output current 20A. ISL91301A has 3 outputs and ISL91301B has 4 outputs, and two configurations can be selected at the time of shipment as a method of distributing the maximum output current 16A. In any case, any output voltage can be set for each output.
Both achieve space saving mounting area, 7 × 10 mm in 4 phase design. With its unique "R5" control scheme, it enabled high-speed response characteristics during load transient, optimized phase compensation, and high-frequency switching up to 6 MHz. In addition, since the number of active phases is changed according to the output current, it is possible to greatly extend the battery driving time in applications with low current consumption and high light load and applications that consume a large amount of power with a high function.
